Work done = Force × Displacement. W = F·s = ma·s. Using v² = u² + 2as → s = (v²-u²)/2a. Therefore W = ma·(v²-u²)/2a = ½m(v²-u²). If u=0, KE = ½mv².

Q3. What is the significance of coefficient of friction? Derive its expression. (10 marks)

Coefficient of friction is ratio of friction force to normal force. μ = F/N. Higher μ means more friction between surfaces.
